Most people seem to operate under the assumption that the United States has a free and open media. But that assumption is totally wrong. The reality is that the American media is very tightly controlled, and when an important environmental story threatens to upset an important corporate sponsor or governmental interest it is quickly killed.

If the media is so incredibly controlled and censored, then how are the American people ever going to wake up to important issues?
